Why Veka Matters
The Window Itself Isn't the Whole Story
You can fit the best window in the world and it will still leak heat if it's installed badly. That's why we're Veka-certified โ a real trade accreditation that assesses the complete installation, not just the glass. U-value, air-tightness, sealing, fit. The whole thing.
It's the unglamorous part of window installation that actually matters, and it's where most "discount" installers fall down. Properly fitted Veka double glazing will do the job for most Scottish homes โ without paying a premium for triple glazing you don't need.
Our Window Systems
Three Glazing Options, Honestly Recommended
Veka uPVC Windows
Our primary system. German-engineered multi-chamber uPVC, low-maintenance, proven in Scottish coastal conditions. Available in white, anthracite grey, black, rosewood, golden oak and chartwell green foil finishes.
Best for: the vast majority of homes.
Aluminium Windows
Slim sightlines, thermally broken frames, dual-colour options inside and out. Cleaner contemporary look โ well suited to modern builds and architect-led extensions.
Best for: contemporary properties and large openings.
Triple Glazing
About 15% more expensive than double glazing. We only recommend it for very exposed properties or where noise reduction is a serious concern โ acoustic double glazing usually does the job for less.
Best for: exposed or unusually noisy sites.
Window Styles
Every Style Worth Fitting
Style choices matter as much as glazing spec โ the wrong style ruins a period property, the right one transforms a modern one.
Casement
The traditional side-opening style. Quality hinged systems with modern locking โ the default choice for most Scottish homes.
Tilt & Turn
Open inward for ventilation, or fully swing open for cleaning. Secure, flexible, and family-friendly.
Sash Replicas
For conservation areas and period properties. Modern double glazing performance, authentic sash appearance.
Bay & Bow
Maximise light and create character. Fitted as complete sealed units for thermal continuity.
Fixed
Frameless or slim-frame fixed glazing for views, feature walls and contemporary statements.
French & Patio
Window-height doors for garden access โ pair with our installation for sealed, secure transitions.
Why Upgrade
What Modern Windows Actually Solve
Six reasons homeowners pull the trigger โ most people care about two or three of these.
Heat Loss
Windows older than 15 years leak heat constantly. Modern sealed units, properly fitted, dramatically reduce that loss.
Condensation & Damp
Failed seals let moisture in. Modern sealed double glazing eliminates condensation between panes entirely.
Noise
Coastal wind, traffic, harbour activity โ thick sealed glass dramatically reduces external noise.
Security
Multi-point locking, laminated glass options and frames built to Scottish Building Standards.
Property Value
Veka-certified installations are recognised by surveyors as a sign of proper investment.
No Maintenance
Modern uPVC requires occasional cleaning โ no sanding, painting, rotting or redecorating.
Honest Note On Energy Savings
We won't promise you'll cut your bills in half. New windows reduce heat loss โ by how much depends on what's currently fitted, how the rest of the house performs and how warm you keep it. The biggest gains come from upgrading from single glazing or seriously failed sealed units. Comfort, condensation and security improvements are more reliable wins than headline bill savings.
